Public & Products Liability
Public Liability insurance is designed to protect your club from legal and/or medical costs that arise from an incident connected to your club’s activities.
It protects your club against the financial risk of being found liable to a third party for death or injury, loss of or damage to property or ‘pure economic’ loss resulting from your club’s negligence.
Public Liability can cover a range of financial risks such as your club’s legal costs or other costs associated with legal action.
If you’re sued for breaching your duty of care (negligence) your club can lodge a public liability claim through this scheme.
In general, all touch football activities are covered. Some examples include:
- Personal injury, including injury to fellow participants
- Injury to spectators
- Libel and slander (excluding advertising and wilful libel and slander)
- First aid treatment
- Vicarious liability to landlord or principal under contract (Tenant’s Liability)
- Liability for Property Owners
- Supply of goods, sales, food and drink by your business

What is Negligence?
Negligence is doing something without a reasonable amount of care, or failing to do something which might reasonably have been done to prevent the incident.
Why is Professional Indemnity Insurance important?
Professional indemnity insurance is designed to cover your club in the event of a claim made against the club because of professional negligence caused by mistakes or bad advice.
It provides indemnity cover if a person suffers a loss – either material, financial or physical, directly attributed to negligent acts.
